The nettles that are growing around the willow's branches represent pain

*

“Salesgirls could be had for $5 a week and machines could not compete with that.”

“… articles such as paper, orange-peel, and other rubbish have been maliciously placed in the slit provided for the admission of the coin….”

*

as the Jacquard loom weaves flowers and leaves

jewellery, frozen beef, rice, whisky, hamburgers, pornographic magazines, videocassettes and batteries

*

had unique names, smoked cigarettes, and, once given artificial voice boxes,
had the ability to tell jokes—even about sex

making you wonder if you are tired, dizzy, or have just spent too many hours
in here

*

"Unlike other creations, all are alike and can be depended on for their actions"

I am threatened with a notice to appear before a magistrate for trespassing in a
field and destroying the hay
